China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has teamed up with compatriot ICBC Leasing to own VLOC newbuildings.
The shipowner has sealed a deal with ICBC unit VLOC Maritime Holdings (VMH) to invest in six 325,000-dwt bulkers on order at Beihai Shipyard in China, CMES said in a filing in Shanghai.
These are listed by Clarksons as ordered by ICBC, while another eight 400,000-dwt VLOCs ordered at Yangzi Xinfu and Beihai are listed as contracted by VMH.
