Another bulker has been added to the US Coast Guard’s port detention bulletin for infractions related to the prevention of pollution by oil.

The 32,200-dwt Clipper Kamoshio(built 2009) was held in New Orleans, Louisiana late last month when inspectors uncovered deficiencies linked to the vessel’s oily water separating (OWS) equipment, authorities said Monday.

In a report, the USCG noted: “During an operational test of the OWS, it was observed by the PSCO [port state control officer] and confirmed by the [first engineer] on board that the oil content meter] will function and continue to operate without alarming with both the sample line and fresh water flushing line in the open position."
