Cargill has locked the week's second capesize bulker into a term charter by extending the charter of a a 19-year-old Zodiac Maritime ship at an improved rate.
The charter comes at a time when period rates for large bulk carriers are rebounding from a decline that lasted through March and into early April.
European shipbrokers report that Cargill has extended its charter of the 175,000-dwt Cape Osprey (built 1999) at $15,950 per day for a year.
