Shipowners, shipyards and brokers have received a Darwinian warning from Bimco in light of a dramatic crisis in the shipping markets – adapt to survive.
Owners will need to consolidate in a world where smaller companies will become increasingly endangered, brokers will need to offer a broader service and yards will have to diversify, the association believes.
The opinions come in the latest report in its Road to Recovery series, which kicked off this summer with a prediction that the dry cargo market will not return to profit until 2019 and only if fleet growth is capped at zero.
“We
