A revised date for a Dacca judge to sign an extension order allowing the return of ship imports into the country is set for 7 August.
The new demolition regime in India and Bangladesh requires all ships to be cleaned and gas-freed allowing both free entry into compartments as well as hot work. So while Bangladeshi breakers wait around in frustration for the piece of paper to be signed, Indian demolition operations continue apace.
