Football fans in the Lancashire town of Burnley were dreaming of exotic destinations when the Clarets secured a place in Europa League for the first time in more than half a century back in May.

Fans bought T-shirts and rushed to get passports expecting to be drawn against clubs in maybe Israel, Cyprus or Belarus in the second-round qualifiers of the European competition.
