A Cosco panamax bulker arrested by order of the Singapore supreme court has been freed after more than five days detention.
The court sheriff has posted a notice indicating that the 74,000-dwt Song Shan Hai (built 1998) is free from arrest presumably indicating that the underlying dispute will be resolved through negotiation, arbitration or trial.
The arrest of the Cosbulk vessel hit the headlines as Cosco had been involved in a high profile dispute with George Economou and other owners earlier this year after unilaterally trying to force down charter rates.
