Seven years after the 43,800-dwt bulker Aktea (built 1975) grounded on a shoal after leaving the Californian port of Stockton a battle over legal costs has been before a San Francisco appeal court.

Delay by the port of Stockton has saved Western Bulk Carriers $193,000.
The court ruled that Western Bulk Carriers and its US offshoot do not have to pay almost $193,000 of costs and attorney fees claimed by the port.
