Green Energy Resources, a recently rebranded US wood fibre supplier, has called for tenders from American shipyards for three panamax woodchip carriers to carry US exports.
The company, known as New York International Log and Lumber Co before it changed its name in May this year, said the ships would range in capacity from 2.5m cubic feet to 3.8m cu ft and would be the first American-built woodchip carriers “exporting exclusively from American ports”.
