Shares in German containership-to-tourism group TUI rose as much as 6% today in response to speculation that AP Moller-Maersk could be considering a bid for the firm.
TUI’s stock hit a high of EUR 16.29 just before 1100 local Frankfurt time before falling back to around EUR 15.85.
Analysts following the company said it appeared investor interest had been piqued by reports of a possible takeover bid by AP Moller-Maersk, the largest containership operator in the world.
