German cruise ship entrepreneur, Peter Deilmann, has died of cancer at the age of 68 in a London hospital.

Management of the blue water and river cruise operation Peter Deilmann Reederei is likely to pass to the shipowner's two daughters, who are already active in the business.

Deilmann focussed on cruises for the German market, but his name hit the headlines around the world three years ago when an Air France Concorde chartered to fly 113 passengers to the 22,500-gt Deutschland (built1998) crashed in flames at Paris killing all on board.
