UNIONS in Scotland have launched a campaign attacking the failure of Superfast Ferries to provide jobs for British seafarers on its subsidised service from Rosyth in Scotland to Zeebrugge in Belgium.

The service was launched in May last year and its success in attracting passengers and freight has earned it plaudits from local business and government.

Before Superfast, a subsidiary of Athens-quoted Attica Enterprises, began the service it held talks with the ratings' union RMT and officers' union Numast.
