A.P. Moller-Maersk appears to have increased the capacity on a series of seven containerships being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The South Korean shipbuilder told the Korean stock exchange on Saturday it had received an order from A.P. Moller Singapore Pte for seven ships worth KRW 665bn ($557m).

It added it would deliver the 6,070-teu boxships by September 2007.

Maersk already has seven boxships (including one booked under the name of subsidiary Safmarine) on order at Hyundai with a nominal capacity of 4,800-teu.
