M Ripley "Rip" Hudner is dead after an unexplained high-speed car crash.
The 23-year-old son of shipowner Michael Hudner was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning. The accident occurred some two miles from his parents' home in Little Compton, Rhode Island near Newport. Hudner had been home for a weekend visit and had spent the evening with friends.
