ER Schiffahrt, the shipping vehicle of German owner Erck Rickmers, has ordered eight 2,800-teu containerships at Korea's Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
Hyundai Mipo said the order was worth KRW 402.3bn ($342m) with delivery by May 2007.
Hamburg-based E.R. Schiffahrt has series of both panamax and post-panamax containerships on order.
Five 7,500-teu units are due for delivery this year and eight 8,200-teu units in 2005 and 2006.
