Environmental group Greenpeace stopped a Cargill-chartered vessel at the Port of Amsterdam on Friday in an attempt to disrupt what it calls the trade of illegal soya beans from Brazil.
Greenpeace, which has been censured in the past for its obstructive tactics in ports across the world, delayed the docking of the 68,500-dwt bulk carrier W-One (built 1990) for four hours to draw attention to what it terms the cultivation of illegally-grown soya in the South American hinterland.
