Icelandic container and reefer shipping company Eimskip has purchased a 50% equity stake in Kursiu Linija, the Lithuanian shortsea container carrier which was looking for a partner.
Eimskip says it has financed the acquisition through its own equity but declines to divulge the price it is paying for Kursiu Linija, a company forecast to be profitable on a 2006 turnover of about EUR 60m ($77m), up from EUR46m in 2005.
