A ro-ro cargo vessel was detained for 74 days in the UK, had its owners, name and flag changed only to be detained the day it was released.
The 1,700-dwt Jotunheim, (built 1983) was held in the port of Harwich with 16 recorded deficiencies, including insufficient charts, no passage plan for its next voyage, out-of-date tide tables, a 40 deg error in the gyrocompass, holes in the shell plating and no suitable radio.
