Danish owner DFDS Tor Line is launching a new ro-ro and container service between London and Sweden.

AngloBridge South will run from Tilbury to Gothenburg from the start of July.

The decision was spurred by the award by StoraEnso of a new contract for shipment of 800,000 tons of paper per year to its new distribution centre in Tilbury.

DFDS is incorporating the traffic currently shipped between Gothenburg and Harwich into the new Tilbury service, which will initially operate with three sailings per week performed by the 2,800-lane-metre Tor Selandia (built 1998) and the 1,800-lane-metre Tor Neringa (built 1975).
