Maersk-Sealand's storm-damaged containership Sealand Pride finally docked in the US port of Charleston at the weekend after a week waiting offshore to deal with containers leaking a toxic pesticide.
The US-flag vessel had sailed for Charleston from Bremerhaven in Germany on February 19 but ran into a fierce storm in mid-Atlantic which resulted in six containers being lost overboard and the failure of primary navigation lights.
