One of the latest entrants to the TradeWinds Maritime Photographer of the Year contest is truly dedicated snapper and ship’s master, Hans Schaefer.
He reckons to have taken more than 700,000 photos since going to sea as a 14 years old “decksjunge” in 1958.
That averages out at more than one 36 exposure film every day through a near 50 year career.
