P&O Cruises has suffered an embarrassing start to its summer cruising season in Australia after a ship was forced to return to its home port after suffering an engine breakdown.
The UK-flag Pacific Sky (built 1984) had sailed from Brisbane on a 12-night South Pacific cruise but the ship has had to be turned around after the starboard engine developed problems, leaving it unable to operate at its 21-knot full speed.
