The Sun Venus, a Panamanian-flag, 7,100 dwt chemical tanker (built 1997) suffered an explosion and fire off Japan on December 24 last year. Two out of its 19-strong Filipino crew died and two survivors - the first mate and helmsman - are facing charges of professional negligence.
