Maritime Holdings Group of Miami was widely being reported this week as having sold a cruiseship that has just come off charter to Japan’s Peace Boat organization for recycling.
According to cruise industry insiders, the 35,300-gt Ocean Dream (built 1981) has been sold to India and will soon depart Yokohama for Alang under the shortened name Dream.
It is the 16 th cruiseship to have its career curtailed as a direct result of the devastating effect the coronavirus has had on the cruise sector during 2020.
