Atlas Ocean Voyages is pressing ahead with its plans to enter the luxury expedition cruise sector with a $358m splash on five brand-new ships from Portuguese shipbuilder West Sea.
The fledgling company, founded in early 2019 by travel and tourism investor Mario Ferreira, announced plans for the new fleet in January. It did not disclose the price tag at the time.
