Israeli shipping line Zim is launching a direct service to the port of Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates.
The move follows a thawing of political relations between the countries that has led rival carriers Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) and AP Moller-Maersk to begin serving the trade.
Zim was created in 1945 and has never been able to operate services to the Arab state.
