The Energy Observer project has unveiled a design for a 5,000-dwt zero-emission liquid hydrogen and wind-propelled multipurpose (MPP) cargo ship.
Partners in the French project, which also sailed a similarly powered catamaran on a seven-year journey round the world, said the ship will meet emissions targets set by the International Maritime Organization.
The partners include shipping giant CMA CGM Group and leading hydrogen producer Air Liquide.
