Vega Reederei is selling four 1,868-teu container ships under construction in China to French liner operator CMA CGM for a chunky profit.
The Hamburg ship manager is offloading the quartet for about $44.5m each, according to European brokers.
Vega managers declined to comment on the deal, which if confirmed would reflect a near doubling of values in less than a year after the vessels were ordered at Zhejiang-based Yangfan Group.
