SITC International Holdings has exercised options for two more 2,400-teu containerships, the company has confirmed.

The Hong Kong-listed shipowner said the newbuildings would cost $25m each or $50m in total, according to a regulatory filing.

The ships, which are based on tail-heavy payments of 60%, are due to be delivered in February and April 2020.

The options were attached to orders for two 2,400-teu contracts placed in November 2017 at China’s Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding.
