Rickmers' Asian Spirit leads charge as buyers swarm into resurgent boxship sector

Bertram Rickmers-controlled Asian Spirit Steamship Co (ASSC) is again investing in classic panamax boxships, according to managing director Ulrik Kriete.

ASSC has not previously shown much interest in the traditional panamax sector, preferring to focus on feedersize vessels, but it watched the charter market explode in the past six months and has decided it can no longer stand on the sidelines.
