Regional Container Lines (RCL) has purchased a pair of modern neo-panamax vessels in a landmark move for the intra-Asian operator, which has until now focused on feeder boxships.
The Thai-listed company has inked a contract to purchase two 12,000-teu containerships for $115m each.
Delivery is scheduled in the fourth quarter of 2022 and the first three-month period of 2023.
