Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) is continuing its boxship buying spree by picking up a pair of Greek-controlled neo-panamax boxships in a deal worth $195m.
Shipbrokers said the Swiss liner operator has purchased the 9,288-teu CMA CGM Magdalena (ex-Anaxagoras, built 2016) and Adonis (ex-CMA CGM Uruguay, built 2015) for $97.5m each.
The vessels are listed among 16 boxships in the fleet of US-listed Capital Product Partners.
