Germany’s MPC Container Ships (MPCC) is ordering two vessels to serve a 15-year contract of affreightment deal with Norwegian chemical group Elkem.
The green methanol-powered ships will be operated by Norway’s North Sea Container Line (NCL), which is chartering the units for 15 years from MPCC.
They will operate in the North Sea, enabling carbon-neutral logistics for Elkem, an Oslo-listed producer of silicones and alloys for the foundry industry.
