AP Moller-Maersk plans to repurchase about one million shares in the first tranche of a $1.5bn share repurchase programme.
The Danish shipowner, which announced the move in May, is looking to reacquire up to 208,168 A shares and another 815,739 B shares in the initial offer.
Maersk expects to rebuy the first 1.24 million shares from 4 June to 1 November for DKK 3.3bn
