Kukje Maritime Investment Corp (Kmarin) has reportedly taken a huge hit on the sale of one of three wide-beam containerships originally chartered to Hanjin Shipping.
The South Korean investment firm is understood to have disposed of the 4,532-teu Kmarin Aqua (built 2013) for around $19m.
That is $7.5m less than its charter-free value and reflects a low charter rate that is due to run for a further two years, according to London brokers.
