Tsakos Group of Greece is paying top dollar for four efficient but conventionally fuelled feeder container ship newbuildings at Hyundai Heavy Industries.
According to shipbuilding sources, Tsakos has booked four 2,800-teu ships at the South Korean yard for delivery between the end 2023 and early 2024. The quartet is said to cost $47m each.
HHI officials declined to comment, citing contract confidentiality.
