Evergreen Marine has confirmed that it is ordering 24 containership newbuildings at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding in China that will cost it between $958m and $1.098bn.
In a regulatory filing, the Taiwanese liner giant said the company’s board of directors has approved the order, to be placed by subsidiary Evergreen Marine Asia.
The deal involves two 1,800-teu vessels, 11 ships of 2,300 teu and another 11 of 3,000 teu.
