Drewry is backing Maersk Line in urging caution over new mandatory slow-steaming proposals at the IMO.
The shipping consultancy said no container lines signed the letter from more than 110 shipowners supporting a French plan to impose speed restrictions on the world fleet.
It said: "There does appear to be some marginal gains to be had from slowing ships even further, both in terms of fuel consumption and cost.
