Boxship giant Cosco Shipping Holdings is said to be planning to add a raft of methanol dual-fuel mega-size container ships of 23,000 teu and conventionally-powered but methanol-ready 15,000-teu vessels to its fleet at a cost of more than $2.9bn.
Shipbuilding sources said the Asian liner carrier is in advanced discussions with its affiliated shipyard — Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Yangzhou (Cosco Yangzhou) — for a total of 15 newbuildings.
