A South Korean antitrust authority has fined 23 shipowners for price-fixing over a period of 15 years, but now faces legal action itself.
The group of domestic and overseas container lines will pay a combined KRW 96.2bn ($81m) for the collusion on routes between South Korea and South East Asia, according to the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC).
The competition body ruled an unfair minimum rate was agreed to the disadvantage of cargo owners.
