Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) continues to raid the secondhand market while its liner operator rivals are snapping up chartered tonnage for delivery next year.
The Swiss containership giant has acquired the 3,700-teu Xin Feng Yang Zi Jiang (built 2002) from Chinese owners for $30m, according to European shipbrokers.
The sale price points to a chunky profit for Chinese logistics company Trawind Shipping, which paid just over $6m for the vessel in May 2017.
