Capital Product Partners buys boxship trio from sponsor that paid less for them

Capital Product Partners (CPLP) has acquired three panamax containerships from its sponsor for $11.5m more than their purchase price last year.

The Jerry Kalogiratos-led shipowner said on Wednesday that it bought the 5,100-teu Seattle Express, Long Beach Express and Fos Express (all built 2008) for a total of $40.5m from Evangelos Marinakis-controlled Capital Maritime & Trading.
