Evangelos Marinakis-controlled Capital Maritime & Trading has ordered up to six container ship newbuildings worth in total close to $480m at Dalian Shipbuilding Industries Co (DSIC) in China.
TradeWinds understands the company has contracted four firm vessels of 7,100 teu and secured two optional berths.
The container ships are Tier III vessels that will be fitted with what are described as “multi-fuel-ready” engines and generators.
