South Korea's H-Line Shipping has entered the car carrier arena by splashing out $166m on two pure car/truck carrier (PCTC) newbuildings.
According to shipbuilding sources, the bulker owner has signed a deal with China's Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) to build two dual-fuel, 7,000-ceu vessels. The deal does not include options for additional ships.
H-Line and GSI declined to comment on the order for the newbuildings, which will be able to run on LNG and conventional marine fuels.
