Borealis Maritime continues to grow its fleet of traditional panamax boxships.
The UK-owner has reportedly paid in excess of $14m to purchase the 4,249-teu Argos (built 2012) from Greek-owner Technomar Shipping.
Brokers describe the price as “very firm” in comparison with slightly older tonnage close to being sold at around $12m.
That has fuelled speculation that the deal was concluded earlier in the year when prices were stronger with forward delivery.
