Singapore-based containerships owner APL, now controlled by CMA CGM, has achieved a firm price from the demolition sale of one of its containerships.
It has collected $420 per ldt or $9.6m for its 5,404-teu boxship APL Coral (built 1998) which is sold for green recycling in India.
While it is the first scrap sale for APL this year, in 2016 it sent five boxships for demolition.
