HMM has emerged as the buyer of five wide-beam container ships that it previously had on long-term charter.
The South Korean liner operator has acquired the quintet from Capital Clean Energy Carriers, the Evangelos Marinakis company formerly known as Capital Product Partners.
It is paying around $300m for the 5,023-teu Hyundai Prestige, Hyundai Premium, Hyundai Paramount, Hyundai Privilege and Hyundai Platinum (all built 2013), according to shipbroking sources.
