JR Shipping Group has swiftly raised funds to buy a German-owned feeder container vessel at a discounted price.
The Dutch company exercised a purchase option to buy the 1,025-teu Elbspring (built 2010) from USC Barnkrug for €9.25m ($10m).
The vessel was reappraised on 24 October to be worth €10.7m.
