Hapag-Lloyd chief executive Rolf Habben Jansen does not believe liner operators are taking an “unacceptable” bet on the future by stocking up on pricey container ships.

That is despite a stream of newbuilding orders or ships being taken on expensive charters for delivery over the coming five years.
