Proposed US port fees on Chinese-linked vessels will cause congestion and double spot rates on key trades, according to the leading container shipping lobby.
In prepared testimony to the Office of the US Trade Representative hearing on Monday, the World Shipping Council (WSC) voiced its “strong opposition” to the proposal to implement port fees on Chinese-built ships.
